SLR Creations Ltd was started in October 2003, inspired by my fathers seventieth birthday.
I wrote, filmed, narrated, edited and produced a video for my father's 70th birthday. This 20 minute video was shown at a surprise party with around 100 guests on a large screen. It was a very successful production, and a very successful night. Everybody cried and laughed in the right place! This experience gave me the inspiration to make films.
I have had previous experience in the film industry spending time on the other side of the camera. I have had an Equity card since 1982 and have been in a number of productions such as District Nurse, Dr Who, Robin Hood, Only fools and Horses, Treasure Island, The Giblet Boys, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Chronicles of Narnia, Pobol y Cwm, Dinas, and various other films, corporate video, stand in work etc. I still do some walk on work from time to time although my company is the main focus.
Over the last few years I have filmed more and more weddings and have developed a style that is appreciated by all ages. The last twelve months has seen a shift to more corporate work and more recently writing and producing Drama and documentary.
In October 2005 I qualified as a Master Member of the IOV (Institute of Videography) and in 2009 became an Apple Certified Pro in Final Cut Pro. In October 2009 I was shortlisted for Best Film and Best Documentary at the annual IOV awards. Both were highly commended and I was presented with the awards by Maggie Philbin.
Click on the links to view them, been warned, the film has extremely gruesome scenes - not for the faint hearted. This was written for a prosthetics company, wanting to show off their talents.
